Construction, deconstruction, reconstruction.
These basic principles of life are reflected in my creative process.
I don’t feel limited by a single medium, but I often express my art through sculpting, painting and photography. I approach a painting like a sculptor, and a photograph like a painter, thus creating a synthesis of media.

Sculpting
Wood is my favourite medium.
I love its organic nature, its texture, its look and smell. Each piece of wood was once alive, so I treat it with the respect it deserves. I work slowly, using primarily traditional manual tools, carefully contemplating each cut I make.
My sculptures grow into space, occupy space, encompass space. -
Painting
My paintings go through stages like a living being. Layer by layer they grow, develop, evolve.
Like sculptures, my paintings manifest in space. The aspect of evolution adds a dimension in time.
Through abstract expression I seek to touch an observer on a visceral, emotional level. -
Photography
Light is my brush, the camera is my canvas.
I move through space and time, and I build new realities by layering light, contrast, colour. I search for new perspectives and challenge the viewers perception. Through my photographs I seek to communicate with the observer on an unfiltered, emotional level.
